Over the weekend I had the pleasure of fishing with the Mcgill Crew from Florida twice. Their main goal was to catch tuna and tuna is what they got. We started off Saturday fishing for wahoo where i had caught some the previous day but they had disappeared. We worked our way to the tuna grounds and found 18 boats already pecking away at them. We then decided that we would go fish another locations instead of getting in the middle of all the other boats and it worked out very well for us.
These guys said they get wahoo back home so they were very set on landing their first yellowfin tuna, which they all did. We fished most of the day landing 20-25 big blackfin and two yellowfin. One yellowfin was 110lb and the other was 77lb. Since the guys were fishing with me for two days we decided to go try and get them on a couple wahoo. I talked to one of my buddies and he said the bite was on. So we ran over there, first pass we double up landing one of the two but after that not another bite so we headed on home.
You can read about Day 2 here.
The actions is as good as it gets right now so give us a call to book a trip the action should continue through march. 504-228-0083
