You’ve done the hard work and reeled in a beautiful tuna and now all that hard work deserves a reward fit for royalty! We love a good steak as much as the next person, but fresh tuna? There’s nothing finer. So we thought that we would share one of the best recipes that Venice La Chartering Company has ever tried, and trust us we’ve tried a lot.
Grilled Tuna Skewers
We’re not going to add a lot of things to this beautiful fish because the taste of fresh tuna is already so good. However, we are going to complement it with these simple fixings that will be easy to take with you on your next fishing trip. Whip this up on the beach when you come in and you will be the hero of the day!
Ingredients:
Fresh tuna, cut into 1 ½-inch cubes
Small bunch of cilantro, chopped
Olive Oil
Juice of two limes
Salt and pepper
Skewers
The first thing you’ll need to do is soak the skewers, so they don’t burn on the hot plate or BBQ. Toss the cubed tuna in a little bit of olive oil, tread the tuna on the skews, and set aside. Now in a small bowl, combine the herbs, lime juice, with a good glug of olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Stir well to combine. Brush a little olive oil onto your cooking surface and put the tuna on. While it’s cooking on one side, brush it with the lime sauce. Turn the skewers after 2-3 minutes, depending on how well cooked you want it, and brush the other side. Once you’re happy with how cooked it is, plate up and brush with a little more of the sauce and enjoy!
These subtle flavors will have your friends begging for more and give you a great excuse to get back on the water to catch another tuna with Venice La Charter fishing.
