Venice, LA Fishing Report February 22nd- March 1st What a week that was! The big fish decided to show there faces this past week on the east side lump. The few days our boats were able to get out because of the weather, we were able to land yellowfin tuna that weighed: 190.1lb, 189.5lb, 186lb, 185lb, 170lb, 143lb, 134lb, 124lb, 121lb, 118lb, 112lb, and 105lb. Along with that, we caught countless blackfin tuna and wahoo. The big fish should stick around for a couple more weeks, along with large schools of wahoo, and large blackfin tuna. The floaters have been producing double digit catches of yellowfin tuna in the range of 30-50 pounds. This is awesome to see so early in the year, which should make for great fishing in later months. Snapper season dates should be set soon, we know that it will open June 1 but the length is not known yet. Please give us a call to get in on the action. There are only a few dates left for your chance at a 200lb yellowfin. Call us a (504)228-0083 or look us up at www.homeruncharters.com |
