Yellowfin tuna is one of the most versatile fish when it comes to food preparation. Firm in texture and delicate in flavor, it can be served and prepared a number of ways anywhere from raw to fully-cooked. Asian flavors tend to complement this particular fish best, but tropical ingredients or even a splash of lemon juice work great too. With this technique, you gently place the tuna in a boiling liquid (oil or other liquid mixture), reduce heat to low, and simmer for approx. 5 – 10 minutes (depending on the recipe).

Use a charcoal or gas grill or even a grill pan and place the tuna on medium high heat for about 2 minutes on each side.

Baking yellow fin tuna allows it to retain its firm texture and delicate flavor.
To sear, place the tuna in an oiled pan on medium-high heat for about 1 ½ minutes on each side. This will give the tuna a nice crust while keeping a raw center.
